Applications (CV)
Applications contain the seafarer CV, operational notes, reminders, assignments, and pool information used by the back-office team.
Use the application list to search, filter, and open seafarer applications. When you open one application, Crewlap shows the application toolbar, the pools toolbar, CV sections, notes, assignments, documents, and related actions that your permissions allow.
Application List Table
The application list is a wide table with seafarer, assignment, pool, status, and update information. Double-click a row to open the application, or use the pencil action at the end of the row.
Use the filters in the table header to narrow the list. Some columns use text filters, and others use drop-down or multi-select filters. Filters work together, so the table shows only applications that match all active filter values.
Click Columns to choose which columns are visible. Use this when you want a smaller table for daily work or need to temporarily show hidden fields such as consent, status, personal code, or seaman book number.
If the table is wider than the screen, scroll horizontally to see columns on the right. On many mice and touchpads, hold Shift and use the mouse wheel or touchpad scroll gesture to move the table left or right.
Create Application
Click Create on the application list when you need to start a new seafarer application from the back office. Enter the seafarer's email address and click Create.
Crewlap creates the application and opens the application page, where you can fill the CV sections, upload files, link pools, add notes, or create an assignment. Applications created this way are normal back-office applications and do not require the Review Tool until a seafarer later suggests changes.
Pools Toolbar
The pools toolbar is shown near the top of the application page.
Pools shows the pools where the application is currently linked.
Manually linked office pools are shown as normal pool chips. These links can be changed from the application pools dialog.
Proposed client pools are shown as separate muted pool chips when the application has active recruitment proposals. These links are read-only on the application page and are changed by the recruitment proposal workflow.
When the seafarer has an assignment, the assigned vessel pool is shown automatically. This link is read-only on the application page and is changed by the assignment workflow.
The pencil button opens the application pools dialog for manual links only.
If no pool chips are visible, either the application is not linked to a pool you can read or your current organization/permissions do not allow pool visibility.
The toolbar can therefore show pools from several sources at the same time. For example, an application can have one manual office pool, one proposed client pool, and one vessel pool added automatically by an assignment.
Pool chips use compact labels so the toolbar stays readable. If two visible pools have the same short name or key, hover over a chip to see the full pool path and confirm which pool it represents.
Edit Application Pools
The application pools dialog lists visible office pools that can be linked to the application manually. Select the office pools where the application should be available, then click Save.
The dialog changes only manual office application-pool links. Pools added through recruitment proposals or assignments are managed by those workflows, not by the manual pools dialog. If a proposal or assignment pool is shown in the toolbar but not selected in the dialog, that is expected: it is not a manual link.
If an older manually linked client pool is still selected in the dialog, you can clear it and save. After it is removed, that client pool is no longer offered for manual selection; use recruitment proposals or assignments to add client pool links.
When pool names repeat under different parents, use the tree structure and the full path tooltip to choose the intended manual pool.
Notes On An Application
Use the right-side panel on an application page to read and add notes. Type the note text in the note field and click Add. The new note appears in the Notes list and stays linked to the application after you leave and reopen the page.
Notes are visible only when your permissions allow access to application notes. You can also create reminders from the note area when you need to follow up later; see Reminders for how reminder notifications work.
Assignments
Open Assignments and click the plus button in the section header when you need to plan work for the seafarer on a vessel. Choose the vessel, choose the loaded vessel position, enter planned embarkation and disembarkation dates, and save the assignment.
After saving, Crewlap adds the assigned vessel pool to the application pools toolbar. This pool link is automatic and read-only on the application page. Open the crewlist for the assigned vessel to see the planned assignment in the live crewlist. Select a specific crewlist date only when you need a historical or date-specific view.
The Assignments section shows one assignment timeline and a table below it. The table includes current and historical assignments, with vessel context, start, end, duration, status, and row actions. Use the checkbox at the start of each row to choose which assignments appear on the timeline. By default, Crewlap selects active assignments and the latest normally finished assignment, if one exists.
Use the column button in the Assignments header to show extra fields such as assignment key, planned dates and duration, or actual dates and duration. Click the pencil action to open an assignment. Use the link action to jump to the assigned vessel crewlist.
When the assignment is active, that assignment keeps the application in the assigned vessel pool. If the assignment is finished as Available for same client only, it can keep the application in that pool until the assignment pool deadline selected in the assignment dialog. Other finished assignment statuses do not keep the application in the vessel pool.
See Assignment Dialog for details about planned dates, duration, assignment events, and assignment-created pool links.
Recruitment Proposals
The Recruitment Proposals section is shown below Assignments. It lists recruitment proposals for the open application.
By default, the section shows only new proposals. Use the status filter to switch to all proposals or another status when you need older items. A green new badge in the section title means the application has new proposals.
Click the plus button in the section header to create a new recruitment proposal when your permissions allow it. Click the pencil button in a proposal row to open that proposal's action dialog.
Printable Views
Use the print action on the application page when you need a read-only CV view. The static application view is designed for browser printing or saving as PDF. It shows application data according to your current permissions.
Crew-on-board reports are opened from crewlist and vessel workflows. They show vessel context and crewlist information for a selected date. See Crewlist Management for crewlist reports.
