Rank Changes

Use rank changes when a seafarer changes position while already assigned to a vessel.

Open the vessel crewlist and find the onboard assignment. The Promotion or demotion action opens a dialog with:

• From date: the date when the new position starts.

• Position: the target position slot on the crewlist.

Save the dialog only after both fields match the intended operational change. Crewlap records the change as an assignment event, so the crewlist can show the correct position before and after the change date.

Rank changes are not used to create a new assignment from scratch. For a new planned assignment, use the assignment workflow described in Assignment Dialog.
