Companies List

Open Management | Companies to view the company catalog.

Use the column filters to find a company by key or name. Click the pencil action, or double-click a row, to open the company card.

Use the plus action in the list header to create a new company. On the company card, open General Info, enter the company key and name, and save.

Company Card

The company card has two main sections:

• General Info: company key and display name.

• Grouped Vessels: vessel groups that belong to this company.

Vessel Groups

Use Grouped Vessels to add or edit vessel groups under the company. A vessel group is the middle level of the client fleet structure between company and vessel.

When you create a vessel from a vessel group, the vessel form opens with the company and vessel group already selected. This avoids selecting the same fleet context twice.

Editing Company and Vessel Group Keys

You can edit company keys and vessel group keys when your permissions allow updating those records. The key must contain only uppercase letters and digits. If the key is empty during creation, Crewlap can generate one.

Changing a company key changes the company client pool path and the full paths of its vessel groups and vessels. Changing a vessel group key changes the vessel group client pool path and the full paths of vessels in that group.

Crewlap asks for confirmation before saving a changed key. Old bookmarks, copied links, open browser tabs, and stored paths can stop working. If the old key is reused later, an old link can open a different company, vessel group, or vessel.

If the new key is already used in the same scope, Crewlap shows a validation message that the key is already occupied. Choose another key and save again.

While editing the key, Crewlap may show a triangle next to the key field before you save. A yellow triangle means the same key text is already used by another pool, but this is not an error when the full paths are different. A red triangle means the current key appears to conflict in the same path scope. Save still runs the final validation and shows the normal validation message if the conflict remains.

After a successful company key change, Crewlap opens the company page again with the new key. After a successful vessel group key change, the grouped vessels tree refreshes.

Pool Catalog Effect

Client pools are synchronized from the fleet structure:

• each company has a company pool;

• each vessel group has a vessel group pool;

• each vessel has a vessel pool.

These client pools are maintained by the fleet structure. Manage their source data from Companies, Vessels, and Positions rather than editing synchronized pool metadata directly.
